A busy little raindrop on his way to make electricity

This is a blog that I wrote in august 2010 on www.eyjan.is. It tells the story of a raindrop that falls on Tungnafellsjokull and travels his natural way west to Thjorsa, from there east again through manmade lakes and rivers into Thorisvatn. From there it will turn turbines in 5-9 power plants to produce electricity.

Vonarskard with pictures and names

This is a blog I wrote on www.eyjan.is in october 4th 2010. This is part of dialogue about if jeeps should be allowed to drive through Vonarskard or not in late summer. This blog includes many pictures with names of places in this beautiful landscape. The text is all in Icelandic.

Tilurð þessa vefs - SeeVatnajokull.net

Það var í Skaftafelli þann 7. júní árið 2008 sem þessi ferð byrjaði fyrir alvöru. Ég hafði áður velt fyrir mér að sniðugt væri ef svona vefur yrði settur upp um þjóðgarðinn, samfélagsvefur, fyrir almenning af ýmsu þjóðerni að setja inn sínar myndir, video og frásagnir frá heimsókn á svæðið. Það gæti orðið gott kynningarefni.



Þennan dag var Vatnajökulsþjóðgarður stofnaður formlega, og eftir ræðu umhverfisráðherra, formanns stjórnar garðsins og væntanlegs framkvæmdastjóra hans…
